A Refreshingly Cool Install

A leading soft drink manufacturer was undertaking a significant investment in new air conditioning as part of its broader decarbonisation strategy at its Lutterworth site. To support this initiative, C&B Electrical Contractors Ltd was commissioned to design, supply, and install seven new three-phase supplies across two external compounds, providing essential power to the newly installed condenser units.

The project presented a number of challenges, particularly in ensuring the installation process caused minimal disruption to the busy warehouse and office areas. Careful planning was required to route the new supplies efficiently through the facility while maintaining the highest standards of safety and organisation.

Each supply followed a complex path through the warehouse and above ceilings before being directed into an external duct system. To accommodate this, C&B Electrical Contractors Ltd installed new tray work along the designated cable routes, ensuring a secure and structured installation. Over 450 metres of SWA cabling was carefully pulled and laid, connecting the air conditioning units to the existing mechanical distribution panels.

A key focus of the project was future-proofing the installation to support ease of maintenance. To achieve this, clear and concise labelling was applied throughout, allowing for quick identification of supplies and facilitating streamlined servicing in the future.

Thanks to meticulous planning and expert execution, C&B Electrical Contractors Ltd Contractors Ltd successfully delivered the project on time and with minimal impact on the client’s operations. The new infrastructure now ensures reliable and efficient power delivery to the air conditioning units, contributing to the manufacturer’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency.
