This week, Milton Keynes will host an amateur boxing event that means more than just sport to us. For Callum Biscoe, director of C&B Electrical Contractors Ltd, the ring at Bletchley Amateur Boxing Club was where discipline and determination first took hold – traits that now drive his success and the values that underpin our business.
On Sunday 18 May, the Bletchley Boxing Community Hub will stage its annual showcase at Hotel La Tour. Sixteen bouts featuring young boxers aged 10 to 21 will take place, highlighting the growing talent nurtured at the Hub’s purpose-built gym in Kiln Farm.
Callum, who boxed at the Bletchley gym as a teenager, remembers the difference it made. “Boxing gave me structure and confidence when I needed it most,” he said. “Now that I’m in a position to give back, I want to support the next generation coming through.”
C&B Electrical is proud to sponsor the event and stand alongside the Hub’s mission to support young people facing challenges, whether social, emotional or economic. The club is not just about boxing. It’s a community space, offering mentorship and a safe environment to grow.
Claire Byrne, CEO of the Bletchley Boxing Community Hub, explained: “This isn’t just about sport. It’s about offering direction and opportunities. With help from local businesses like C&B Electrical, we’re providing training, support and even one-to-one development for young people who need it most.”
Tickets for the event on Sunday afternoon are available on the door (£20 for adults, £10 for under-15s). Doors open at 12.30pm.
All proceeds support the Hub’s programmes and fundraising goal of £100,000 for 2025. They’re also on the lookout for a flooring company willing to donate specialist gym matting.
This event is more than a fundraiser. It’s a reminder of how local businesses like ours and community organisations can team up to make a real impact. Please support this event if you can, or reach out to the Bletchley Boxing Community Hub to offer your help.
